
Child Care (2007/08 prices)
At the Kinderclub Pumuckel in Hotel La Ginabelle (027-966-5000; fax 027-966-5010) nurses take care of children age 2 to 6 years of age. A ski instructor gives lessons to those 4 years and older. Children can enjoy other activities besides skiing such as arts and crafts, snowplay and toboggganing. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Saturdays) from December 20th to April 27th. Prices: Full day with lunch and snack, CHF 90; half day with lunch included, CHF 55. Half day without lunch costs CHF 50.
Nico Kids' Club at Hotel Schweizerhof accepts children age 2 to 8; the hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from December 20th to mid April. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Children who are guests of a Seiler Hotel (Mont Cervin Palace 027-966-8888; Hotel Monte Rosa 027-966-0333; and Hotel Schweizerhof 027-966-0000) can enroll in the program free of charge. All others must pay. Full day, including lunch: CHF120. Half day: (9 a.m. - 1 p.m. incl. lunch): CHF70. In the mornings, children can participate in handicraft, playing, drawing, and indoor play. In the afternoons, there are opportunities to sleigh, play on the playground, bake and to take a ride in the horse carriage.
Kinderparadies Zermatt (027-967-7252; fax 027-967-2840) is 200 meters from the train station. It has an inside play-ground for small children from 3 months of age. Children make arts and crafts, play outdoor games and sled. Open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Reservations are necessary. A full day including lunch is €73.35; half day with lunch (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), €46.65; three days, €206.65 and five days, €333.35. Please note that these are 2005/06 prices.
The Snowli Kids Village at Riffelberg (027 966 24 66; fax 027 966 24 64) operated by the Ski and Snowboard School Zermatt provides skiing lessons and snowplay for children ages 4 and 5. In the ski park there are 2 magic carpets, a merry go round and a baby lift the children get their first skiing lessons as well as age appropriate activities outdoors or if it should be to cold or your child is tired indoors.
Children should be dropped off at the Tourist Office Monday to Friday between 9:00 9:15 a.m.
An extra train of the GGB Gornergrat Monte Rosa Railway will bring children and instructors to Riffelberg (30 minutes train ride). Skiing lessons are from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with 1 hour of lunch break at Hotel Riffelberg. Children return to Zermatt by an extra train at 3:50 p.m.

The Stoked Ski and Snowboard School (027-967-70-20) offers lessons for children age 4 - 12 at Snowflakes Kids' Club. Three full days cost CHF 295; three half days cost CHF 150. Five full days cost CHF 445; five half days cost CHF 230. They also operate the Snowflake Kindergarten which takes children age 3 and older. The child-care center is 75 square meters and accommodates a maximum of 25 children. An hour of supervision costs CHF25. Three hours constitutes a half day and six-and-a-half hours with lunch is considered a full day. Three full days cost CHF 295; three half days cost CHF 150. Five full days cost CHF 445; five half days cost CHF 230.
