There are six ski schools in Val Gardena. Two schools are in Ortisei Ski & Snowboardschool Saslong (0471 786258; fax: 0471 786258) and Ski & Snowboardschool Ortisei (0471 796153 fax: 0471 797907). Two schools are in Selva Gardena Selva Gardena Ski & Snowboard School (0471 795156; fax: 0471 794257) and Ski & Snowboard School 2000 (0471 773125; fax: 0471 773283). Two schools are in S. Cristina Ski & Snowboardschool S. Cristina (0471 792045; fax: 0471 790053) and Ski & Snowboard School Cir (0471 790184, fax 0471 791010). They bring the number of instructors in the valley to almost 400. Prices are relatively uniform throughout the valley. These are the prices for Ski &Snowboardschool S.Cristina. Make sure to ask for an English-language instructor.
The following are the prices for the Ski & Snowboardschool S. Cristina and are representative of the cost of ski schools at this resort. These prices do not include the cost of ski equipment rental.
Private lessons have different prices depending on the time of day and the number of people. A lesson (in low season) for one person during 8-10 a.m. costs €31; during 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.costs €35; and during 1-5 p.m. costs €32. A lesson (in high season) for one person during 8-10 a.m. costs €33; during 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.costs €39-€47; and during 1-5 p.m. costs €36.
Group lessons in skiing and snowboarding are €168 in low season and €192 in high season for 21 hours of lessons with a maximum of 5-10 people.
There's also a weekly snowboarding course that lasts 20 hours and costs €169 in low season and €179 in high season.
Cross country skiing lessons are €102 in low season and €109 in high season
Childrens Ski School (412 years) for five full days with lunch, costs €196 in low season and €215 in high season. Children age 4 and younger have 10-hour courses (from Sunday until Friday) at the cost of €117 in low season and €121 in high season.
