Child Care (2007/08 prices)

There are six ski schools in Val Gardena. Two schools are in Ortisei -- Ski- & Snowboardschool "Saslong" (0471 786258; fax: 0471 786258) and Ski & Snowboardschool Ortisei (0471 796153 fax: 0471 797907). Two schools are in Selva Gardena -- Selva Gardena Ski & Snowboard School (0471 795156; fax: 0471 794257) and Ski & Snowboard School "2000" (0471 773125; fax: 0471 773283). Two schools are in S. Cristina -- Ski & Snowboardschool S. Cristina (0471 792045; fax: 0471 790053) and Ski & Snowboard School Cir (0471 790184, fax 0471 791010).The ski schools accept children from the age of 4 and offer a course that runs 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m. with midday supervision. Prices are slightly lower than those for adults. Register at the ski school.

The Ski School S. Cristina offers a kindergarten service for children 18 months and older, everyday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A half day without lunch costs €24 (€29 with lunch); full day with lunch costs €42; and five full days with lunch costs €190.

Ski School Selva Gardena has Mini Club Selvi for children ages 4 and younger from Sunday to Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.. An hour of care costs €10; three hours cost €30; seven hours cost €50; five days of seven hours cost €230; six days of seven hours cost €270.

The Ski School Ortisei looks after children from 2 years of age (MiniClub) which features games and entertainment for children who don't ski. The Mini-Club is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m and costs €26 for a half day without lunch; €38 for a half day with lunch; €46 for a full day with lunch; €167 for a five full days with lunch.

Casa Bimbo (348 8700661) has qualified personel who care for children as young as 4/5 months to age 7/8 years old.

Dolomiti Adventures - Rock and Snow (0471 770905) has a junior club that offers supervision, equipment (snow blade, big foot, ski fox, board, shoes, sticks, helmet) and drink for children age 11-18. The program takes place every Thursday and daily on request. There's a minimum of 4 people. Half day costs €36; full day €69.
