Lessons (2007/08 prices)

The French Ski School in Tignes has 220 instructors for any level of skier. English is spoken by many of the instructors, so mention that you’ll need an English-speaking instructor when signing up.

Private lessons: A lesson (five skiers maximum) for two hours are €91, three hours are €130, and a full day €275.

Group lessons: Three-hour courses are given mornings or afternoons. Five days of half-day lessons are €126. Five days of full-day lessons costs €183. Children ages 4-13 pay the same price as adults.

A full-day off-piste class for good skiers from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. costs €69. This class might traverse between Tignes, La Plagne and Les Arcs.

Snowboarding lessons: Five half days of snowboarding are €126; six half days cost €135.

There are six other ski/snowboard schools at the resort.. Evolution 2 with offices in Le Lac, 479 06 43 78; Val Claret, 479 40 09 04; and Lavachet, 479 06 35 76. In Le Lac, Tetra 479 41 97 07 and Kebra Surfing 479 06 43 37. In Val Claret, 333 Ski and Snowboard, 479 06 20 88 and The Snocool 479 40 08 58 and Surf Feeling 479 06 53 63.
