If you have the time, ride the Glacier Express, a 150-mile crossing of the ice-covered landscape between St. Moritz and Zermatt. Or take the Bernina Express on the scenic mountain rails to Tirano in Italy.

A horse-drawn sleigh ride along the lake costs about €29 per person for an hour or €16 for a half hour. A trip in the Roseg Valley is around €16 per person or €84 per carriage.

“Skikjöring” races, with horses pulling skiers on the frozen lake racetrack, started in 1907. The compe-tition continues on the first three Sundays in February.

Bobsledding is available for €142 per run with a photo and certificate.

Excursions to Italy are easy, and bus tours are available if you are not driving.

St. Moritz has three museums: the Engadine, filled with local history; the Segantini, an art mu-seum; and the Berry Museum, a century-old villa which celebrates the artwork of doctor and painter Peter Robert Berry.

The public swimming pool entrance fees are €5 per adult or €3 per child. There are discount booklets for repeated visits. You will also find a sauna at the pool.
