Child Care (2008/09 prices)

The Schweizer Skischule St. Moritz (081 830 01 01; fax 081 830 01 09) has a child care program for those age 4-12. The program provides child pickup. During the day the children have lunch, a horse-drawn sleigh ride to the ski school and ski lessons. Child care, pickup and lunch costs CHF25 per day. A supervised lunch costs CHF15. There are supervised classes for children age 4-15 at the Suvretta Ski School (081 836 36 00; fax 081 836 36 01). Rates are: CHF95 for a full day and CHF240 for three full days. Lunch is CHF16 per day.

The Schweizerhof Hotel's program (081-837-07 07) is only open in winter from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children age 3 and older are treated to games, hand crafts, swimming and many other activities. For hotel guests, the cost of childcare is free. For non-guests, care is CHF7 per hour; CHF8 for lunch care and CHF45 for a full day of care including lunch.

At the Badrutt Palace Hotel (081 837 10 00) the Kindergarten Palazzino for children age 3 to 12. Its provides care from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (lunch and dinner available) and has 250 square meters spread over three floors. The facilities include a mini-cinema, climbing tower and slide complete with “ball bath,” and a unique Swiss chalet with hobby room as well as a “dining” area. Outside, the playground can be enjoyed in fair weather. Hotel guests pay CHF25 for four hours. Non-guests pay CHF35 for four hours. A full day (9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.) for hotel guests costs CHF40; full day for non-guests CHF50. The two-course lunch/dinner buffet costs CHF15.
