The ski instructors and longtime visitors gather after skiing in the small bar at the Gasthof Postwirt. Also popular with guests and locals alike are Leo’s Bella Vita and Rossini in the resort centre.

There’s a younger crowd and louder music at the PartyHouse Whiskey Mühle (5333-5326 od. 664-3003424) and Buffalo's Bar (5333-6191, fax 5333-5015) at the Pizzeria Venezia. Salvenstadl (5333-6373) rocks just across the main road from the gondola. A couple of igloos serving schnapps and hosting games of nageln, a drinking game in which the participants compete to see who can drive a nail into a tree stump with the narrow end of an hatchet first, make for merriment on the trails back to town from the gondola base.

In Westendorf, the Dutch gather at Gerry’s Bar. The best tea-time is at Kibo Bar and the Wunderbar (phone/fax 5334-6555) can be fun.
