Lessons (2007/08 prices)

There are few places that are this perfect for learning to ski. The Spanish temperament makes for great initial instruction. What’s more, most of the mountain can be handled by beginners after three or four days of instruction. There are 13 ski schools (958-480168, 958-480011 or 958-480142) that have more than 300 instructors and have offices in the main square of the town and at Borreguiles at mid-mountain. About a quarter of the instructors speak English.

Private lessons for one adult costs €35 and an additional €6 per additional person up to a maximum of four.

Group ski lessons for adults and children cost €115 for five days. Classes are held three hours each day in groups of eight to 10 skiers or riders.

Saturday/Sunday courses are available for €40 with two hours of instruction each day.

There are different ski/snowboarding schools in the area with similar prices: Spanish Ski School (958-480168); Official Ski School (958-480011); and the International Ski School (958-480142). Check with them for the availability of English-speaking instructors.
