
Getting there:
By train: From Zürich airport via Bern, Spiez, through the Lötschberg tunnel to Brig. From Geneva, trains run directly to Brig. Travelers by rail reach the Saas valley via Brig or Visp, and change into the post-car with direct destination Saas Fee. There are connections every hour until 8:05 p.m. from Brig or 8:25 p.m. from Visp.
On December 9, 2007, the base tunnel through the Lötschberg will open making the trip tfrom the north into the Valais considerably shorter. There will also be a new junction at Visp, which will shorten travelling time by about an hour. Post bus service will leave for Saas-Fee every 30 minutes from Visp.
By car: Private car travelers from the north approach via through Bern through the Lötschberg (railway car ferry). Trains transit the tunnel every half-hour from 5:35 a.m. to 11:05 p.m. The trip takes only 15 minutes. Cost per car (including nine-seat vans) is €16€18. From Goppenstein, drive to Visp, then on to Saas-Fee.
From the east and south via the Furka and Simpion.
From western Switzerland you reach Saas-Fee via Lausanne, and along the Rhone valley to Visp. Motorway until Sliders East.
Park in the public lot at the town entrance. Call your hotel for pickup, or take a taxi. Taxis from the parking lot and bus station to town cost about €10.
