Child Care (2008/09 prices)

Kindergarten "Ferien-Kinderparadies" Saas-Fee (027 957 40 57) admits children age 18 months to 6 years old from Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. The day nursery is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Disposable diapers must be provided. Slippers or anti-slip socks are obligatory. Replacement clothes are strongly recommended. A half day without lunch (9 a.m.-noon or 1-5 p.m. costs CHF30. A half day with lunch (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) costs CHF46. A full day with lunch (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) costs CHF76. These prices include CHF 6. charge for lunch. Day nursery Hohsi-Nest on Kreuzboden (027 958 15 81) admits children age 2 years and older from Sunday to Friday. Registration at the Swiss Ski School Saas-Grund (079 689 67 55) required. Care costs CHF10 per hour and CHf15 for lunch.

The Kids Fun Park at the Saas-Fee sports field combines snowplay with skiing lessons. The Fun Park is for children aged 4 and older and is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. It has a magic carpet that makes it easier for children to go up the hill; funny figures on the slalom course; a snow carousel that pulls children around in circles; and tubing.

Ferienart Resort & Spa (027 958 19 00) runs Wallo's Nursery School from Sunday-Friday, 9 a.m. -9 p.m. for guest children. Guest children ages 6 months and older pay CHF24 for a half day (3 hours) without a meal; CHF40 for a half day (4 hours) with meal; CHF70 for a whole day with lunch; and CHF40 for evening care (6-9 p.m.) with dinner. Babysitters are available upon request. Registration is required (2007/08 prices).

The Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Saas-Fee (027-9572348) offers activities for children. One full day (three hours ski instruction in the morning, lunch and an afternoon of supervised activities) costs CHF93 and one week (five days) costs CHF399. Mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. cost CHF54 for one morning and CHF188 for a week of mornings.

The school also offers both the Snowli ski course and the Junior ski course. The Snowli is a beginners only course for children age 3-4, Monday to Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and cost CHF36 per day. The Junior ski course is for children aged 5 and older (The Junior snowboard course is for children ages 8 and older.), Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs CHF188 for a week.

Saas-Grund/Saas-Balen
The PIPO-Club, Children’s «Ski Garden», gives lessons to children age 4 and older at the PIPO-Skilift: Mon–Fri 10 a.m.–1 p.m. One day costs CHF 50; five days cost CHF 180.and six days cost CHF 200.

Saas-Almagell
The Pingo club and Pinocchio lift provides care for children age of 3 and older, Mon–Fri 10 a.m.–1 p.m. One day costs CHF 50 and five days cost CHF 180.
