Child Care (2007/08 prices)

This is an area of resort expertise where Mayrhofen excels. Ski schools provide day care and ski instruction for children.

These are the prices for Skischule Manfred Gager (63800). The ski school takes children from ages 3-14 for the same rates as the group lessons. A full day of ski school (4 hours from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.) costs €55 for one day; for two days, €95; for three days, €115; and for six days, €130. Lunch costs €12. Programs at other schools have similar prices.

Mayrhofen’s Guest Kindergarten, called Wuppy’s Kinderland (63612), takes children from 3 months to 7 years of age. It is open Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Price for a full day of supervision is €30, and for five consecutive days, €140. Lunch costs €4 per day. The kindergarten also hires out strollers, prams, and cots for children. It has a swimming pool, nursery school facilities and other activities. Private baby-sitters are also available.

The Mayrhofen Tourist Office (6760) provides a babysitting referral service. They also publish a directory of services, which includes information about child care. Free children’s, family and adult games can be borrowed from the Tourist Office upon presentation of a (Mayrhofen-Hippach) Guest Card. Buggies, prams and a carrying-frame are available for hire. There's an initial €50 deposit, plus a €4 per day charge.
