Getting there

By car: Madonna di Campiglio is two hours north of Verona. The closest airports are in Milan, Verona and Venice. All have rental car services. From Verona take the Trento exit and follow the signs for Madonna di Campiglio. From Milan take the Brescia exit and follow the signs for Lago Idro, Tione, and Campiglio.

The southern route from Trento or from Rovereto to Riva and then up to Madonna Via Pinzolo is the most visually dramatic. Another road leaves the autostrada just north of Trento at San Michele and goes north toward Cles through the Valle di Non and crosses one of the deepest gorges in Italy.

The Passo di Mendola to Bolzano is tortuous.

By bus: A shuttle bus connects Madonna with the main airports in Verona and Milan once every Sunday. Round trip from Verona is €40. Round trip from Milan is €45. For booking and information call 0465-447501 or fax 0465-440404 or check with your hotel.

By train: Go to Trento and transfer to a bus (about 50 yards from the Trento station), which runs on a regular schedule.
