Child Care (2007/08 prices)

The tourist office (click here for more information), your hotel or apartment manager can put you in touch with qualified private babysitters who provide child care services at any time of the day or night.

Les Menuires is part of the national "Famille Plus" program that is part of certified children's day care and teaching system. The day care has a miniclub, ski school, entertainment throughout the day and a sledding hill.

The program, Les Piou-Piou Club, is divided into three sections: 3 months to 2 1/2 years (nursery), 2-1/2 to 3 years (mini-club) and 3 to 6 years (leisure centre). The nursery costs €14 for lunchtime supervision and a meal; €134 for six half days; and €202 for six full days. Children old enough to join the mini-club and leisure centre have a combination of care and ski instruction. Both programs cost €14 for lunchtime supervision plus meal; €130 for six half days; and €196 for six full days. Reservations and medical certificates are necessary (479 00 63 79).

The ski school also runs special programs for kids 4 years and older. The lessons are coordinated with the Schtroumpfs’ Village to allow children to spend the time after and before lessons at the child care facility. Six morning lessons cost €137 for four and five year olds and €168 for five and six year olds. Six afternoon lessons cost €102 for ages 4 and 5; and €133 for older children. A free, adult-supervised, shuttlebus is provided every morning (except the weekends) for children in the “Ourson,” “Flocon” and “1ère Etoile” lessons.

A second kindergarten, also Les Piou-Piou Club, in the Les Bruyères area takes children 2 1/2 to 6 years (479 00 69 50).
