Lessons (2007/08 prices)

There are four ski schools: International Ski and Snowboard School “Starski” (450 27 04 69, fax 450 09 28 46); Aravis Ski School “Ara-vis Ski Concept” (680 57 08 03); French Ski School ESF (450 02 79 10; and “Ecole 2 Ski” (450 09 00 45).

Le Grand-Bornand French Ski School (ESF) is in the village (0450 02 79 10) at the tourist office, and at Chinaillon (0450 27 01 83) under the chairlift La Floria.

Private lessons are held from 9-10 a.m. or from 1-2:30 p.m. or from 1- 3 p.m or from 3-5 p.m. An hour lesson for one or two is € 33.

Group lessons: Six adult half-day lessons cost €118.

Children's lessons: For children ages 3-6 years the ski school’s Piou Piou program is available. Lesson times are 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. or 2:15 p.m. To 5 p.m.. Six lessons cost €112. Children ages 6-12 years can take six half-day lessons for €102.

Snowboarding lessons: Six half-day lessons from 2-5 p.m are €144. Three half-day lessons from 10-12h15 a.m are €65.

The Le Grand-Bornand Cross-Country and Snowshoe School has two locations — Tourist house (450 02 78 17, fax 450 02 36 02; open every day) in the Village and at Chinaillon (450 09 60 66; open weekends and French holidays). Adult prices: €21 for a half day; €56 for three half days; €85 for five half days; and €128 for six full days .Child prices: €19 for a half day; €87 for six half days; and €112 for six full days .
