The Olympic bobsled run for the 1992 games, makes La Plagne the official bobsled capital of the Alps. Visitors can take a hair-raising, 80-kilometer-per-hour plunge down the 19 curves of the track in a special (safe) sled when the track is not being used for competition. There is also the option of taxi-bobbing — taking a 90-kilometer-per-hour ride with a professional — or going it alone in a mono-bob.

There are English-speaking doctors in the Plagne Centre medical center. It is open 8:30 a.m.–7 p.m.
