La Clusaz has five different areas to ski. Visitors can ski a different section each day. Just a cablecar ride above the town, intermediate and beginner terrain allow wide open cruising. Here Beauregard Mountain
rises to 5,544 feet and, true to its name, offers beautiful views and cruising trails through magical forest terrain. On the right side of Beauregard Mountain (looking down the mountain) is a good expert trail. Beyond Beauregard, Massif de Manigod offers a network of 15 lifts serving mostly beginner and intermediate trails. Moving around the valley to massif de LEtale, the runs become steeper and longer. Massif de LAguille has excellent advanced terrain and a long plunge through Combe du Fernuy for strong skiers.
Massif de Balme offers good bump skiing and usually has the best snow. Here skiers will find some of the best expert stuff. La Clusaz has good bump skiing as well as freestyle. There are two ways to get back from La Balme. The return to the village is a 4 km. trail alongside a mountain road through the woods. A cable car runs skiers and boarders from the base of La Balme to halfway up Massif de LAguille.
Mountain rating
Beginners and intermediates will have a swell time in La Clusaz. This is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway for a mixed-ability couple. Many lifts offer side-by-side beginner and intermediate trails meeting at the bottom, perfect for families or friends of different abilities. Experts who know the area or ski with a guide will find some toothy terrain with patches of difficulty especially on Massif de Balme.
