
Lodging
All hotels in the region offer special weekly programs running throughout the season except for holiday periods. These packages include seven nights accommodation with half board, a six-day ski pass, cross-country or snowboarding pass, plus local transportation and entrance into the indoor swimming poolnights.

Gstaad Palace (033-748-5000, fax 033-748-5001; €€€; photo left) is the best place in town where you might get the chance, if you can afford the entrance, to rub shoulders with the movie, fashion and jet-set world.
Grand Park Hotel (033-748-9800, fax 033-748-9808; €€€) has an elegant and rustic restaurant, indoor salt-water pool, heated outdoor pool, fitness center, squash and tennis courts. The hotel is only two minutes walk from the center of Gstaad.
Le Grand Chalet (033-748-7676, fax 033-748-7677; €€€) is a small, charming hotel on the hill with a magnificent view of Gstaad.
Bernerhof (033-748-8844, fax 033-748-8840; €€€) is centrally located with swim-ming pool, spacious rooms, great restaurant, good service and a good kindergarten.
Hotel Arc-en-Ciel (033-748-4343, fax 033-748-4353; €) is best for skiing the Eggli since its near the gondola station. Its quiet, with a good restaurant.
Hotel Gstaaderhof (033-748-6363, fax 033-748-6360; €) has a good location relatively near lifts, station and downtown. It is known for good, affordable meals.
Hotel Alphorn (033-748-4545, fax 033-748-4546; €) is good for skiers; near the lift for the Wispile. It is a good place for meals.
Posthotel Rössli (033-748-4242, fax 033-748-4243; €) is one of the hotel prizes in town, but is small and booked very early. The restaurant is one of the best.
Sporthotel Victoria (033-748-4422, fax 033-748-4420; €) serves excellent food; has two restaurants and a pizzeria. The most reasonable hotel in town.
Saanen
Hotel Steigenberger in Gstaad/Saanen (033-748-6464, fax 033-748-6466; €€€) is a deluxe hotel with pool, sauna, good disco and two restaurants.
Landhaus (033-748-4040, fax 033-748-4049; €€) offers good, middle-priced rooms in the town center with a well-respected restaurant.
Saanerhof (033-744-1515, fax 033-744-1323; €€) is a 23-room hotel with a noted restaurant that offers affordable daily menus.
Alpine Lodge (033-748-4151, fax 033-748-4152; €€) features a Salomon rental shop, computers in every room, 24-hour Internet access, pool and fitness room.
Saanenmöser
Hotel Hornberg (033-748-6688, fax 033-748-6689; €€€) is everything a good ski hotel should be. Its near the lifts, has a pool and sauna and an owner who helps his clients.
Schönried
Hotel Alpenrose (033-744-6767, fax 033-744-6712; €€€; photo right) is a Relais et Chteaux property. Many claim the hotel restaurant is the best in the area.
Hotel Bahnhof (033-744-4242; fax 033-744-6142; €€) includes a ski school. This is the lowest priced major hotel in town with nice rooms and its close to the station.
Chateau dOex
This town, down the tracks toward Montreux from Gstaad, is significantly less expensive than the Saanenmöser-Gstaad-Saanen area. The town is in the French part of Switzerland. It is not as charming nor as Alpine as Gstaad.
But for overall savings of about 25 percent, this might be the place to stay if you dont mind the half-hour train ride to the major slopes above Gstaad and Schönried. Good English is spoken here.
Hostellerie Bon Accueil (026-924-6320, fax 026-924-5126; €€), built in an 18th-century chalet, is considered the best in town.
Residence La Rocaille (026-924-6215, fax 026-924-5249) is a tiny nine-room hotel with a wonderful restaurant that serves affordable meals daily.
Hotel de Ville (026-942-7477, fax 026-924-4121; €) is one of Switzerlands bargains with good meals thrown in for good measure.
Hotel Beau-Sejour (026-924-7423, fax 026-924-5806; €) is very conveniently situated across from the train station and the cable car to the Chateau dOex area.
Hotel Ours (026-9242279, fax 026-9242270; €) sits in the center of town about three minutes from the lift and train station.
Rougement
The four-star Hotel Rougement (026-925-8080, fax 026-925-9185; €€€) has an indoor pool, exercise room and restaurant and is within walking distance of the tiny villages shops and restaurants. The morning croissants alone are worth the visit.
Villars
Eurotel Victoria (024-495-3131, fax 024-495-3953; €€€) has an inhouse res-taurant, bar, game room, sauna and indoor pool. It is in town and just steps from the base of the slopes.
Apartments, condominiums, flats
Vacation apartment rentals are available in every village. Information on rentals is provided by the tourist offices. In middle season an apartment with one bedroom, living room and furnished kitchen costs approximately €450€900 a week. Ample room for four people is typical. Call 033-748-8184 for reservations.
