Mountain Layout — Skiing

Here is a larger, more detailed trail map in pdf format.

The trail system is split into the north and south side, both served by a free ski bus that shuttles between hotels and the lifts. The largest trail system is north of the town across the railroad tracks. Here, seven lifts rise from the town to open a series of interconnected, looping trails that drop back through the trees to town or traverse across the mountain. Trails from the top of the mountain drop over the backside down to another lift nexus. Two lifts take skiers to the top elevation of the area, 3,830 feet, where they can ski above treeline.

On the south side, the Geilolia Ski Centre has expanded and now connects to the Kikut area. Pause a minute to enjoy the awesome view of Hallingskarvet Mountain before carving down one of Kikut’s six slopes.

This area is good for beginners, which is probably why it is also the home of the children’s ski area. The children’s ski kindergarten, nursery and tobogganing run are also situated here.
