Flims Laax Falera snowboarding, The Alpine Arena, SwitzerlandMountain Layout — Snowboarding (2008/09 prices)

Flims Laax Falera is dedicated to making boarders happy. They have a permanent Boarder-Park, a mini boardercross for children and 2 "in dirt"-halfpipes (one of which is a monster-pipe) on the Crap Sogn Gion; a Boarder-Park and a monster-pipe on the Vorab Glacier (both are only open during the Glacier Season from October till December). They've even established a high-tech hotel called Riders Palace which caters to boarders when they're off the slopes allowing its guests to surf the net, watch digital movies and so much more.

Park & Pipe Vorab is 3,018 meters above sea level and it's monsterpipe is 6 meters tall and 140 meters long. With one halfpipe, 1 kickerline, 1 railline and 10 rails there's plenty to keep you busy if the Park & Pipe Crap Sogn Gion is feeling too crowded.

Park & Pipe Crap Sogn Gion (2228 meters) has two monsterpipes, a snowboarding park with a park lift and a boardercross/skicross track. Monsterpipe Crap Lang is 6 meters tall and 140 meters long and is for the experienced boarder. The Monsterpipe Crap Kurz has the same radius, but is slightly lower (4.5 meters) and shorter (80 meters) than Crap Lang, and is ideal for pipe beginners.

The Snowboarding park Crap contains 2 halfpipes, 1 kicker line and 3 raillines with about 20 rails, rainbow-rails, straight-rails, A-rails, kink-box, straight-boxes, S-boxes, C-boxes, and a wall. The Boardercross on the Crap Sogn Gion is 600 meters and contains tables, steep curves, double jumps, large moguls, bumps and dips. From the Café No Name which is directly above the park, there is a perfect view of the whole park.

A special snowboarders lift ticket called the Park and Pipe Ticket is available for CHF42 per day for adults, CHF28 per day for children age 13-17 and CHF14 per day for children age 6-12 years old. It gives access to the Pipelift in No Name Park and Craplift in Beginner Park on Crap Sogn Gion, plus one return ride on a main lift from Flims, Laax or Falera:
Flims: Arena Express Flims-Plaun cable car and Plaun-Crap Sogn Gion chairlift, one ride up and one ride down.
Laax: Laax-Crap Sogn Gion cableway, one ride up and one ride down.
Falera: Falera-Curnius and Curnius-Crap Sogn Gion chairlifts, one ride up and one ride down.

Some favorite runs are the Vorab-Sattel-Ruschein (a 7 km long challenge); Alp Ruschein (with a natural channel to the left of the slope); Plaun, located near the new 6-person chair lift; and Crap Ault, close to the 4-person Curnius chair lift (both runs offer plenty of jumps). Head towards the vast snowfields of Cassons or Masegn (towards Ruschein) for great powder-snow.
