Restaurants are limited because most guests are on full-pension plans with tour operators and apartment guests cook in their own kitchens.

Dine in a rustic chalet atmosphere in the restaurant Les Chalets du Michet (450 90 80 08) which serves good food in a converted cow shed, or try La Perdrix Noire (450 90 81 81) for excellent basic French food. At Chez Daniel (450 90 81 87) try raclette or fondue, or sizzle your meat on hot rocks. The restaurant in the Aujon Hotel (450 90 80 10) serves local Savoyard specialties. Reservations suggested. Pizza can be found at Chez la Jeanne (450 90 80 06) or La Pizzeria (450 90 84 56).

On the mountains lunchtime offerings are pretty much standardized; you pay less on the Samoëns-Morillon side. Halfway down the Morillon side, L’Beu (450 90 17 89) serves simple, good regional specialties.
