Child Care
Child care in Cortina is not a school affair. There are scores of private babysitters and services available through the hotels or private homes where skiers stay. Child-care services are relatively inexpensive, and children seem to get more than their share of affection from the Italians who take care of them. The ski school also runs a childrens ski course for those old enough to begin skiing.
The following is just a sampling of the programs that are available.
Dolomiti Paradise (0436 881811, fax 0436 867333, giscortina@dolomiti.org) at the Olympic Ice Stadium, is both a solarium and a children's playground. Open every day from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
Gulliver Park (340 0558399, gulliverparkcortina@yahoo.com) runs a baby-sitting service in addition to the inflatable games, slides and other facilities. It's close to the slopes in Pocol. Also sunbathing area and a restaurant are nearby the game park.
Parco Giochi Guargnè (0436 2517; faloria@dolomiti.org) has a nursery, inflatable games, slides and other facilities.
Parco Giochi Pierosà, only open in winter, is a playground for children.
Baby Sitting services are offered at the "Facciamo un Nido" Association ( 0436 861776).
