Child Care (2007/08 prices)
The Swiss Ski School Champery (479-1615) has a special Mini-Club for children aged 37, open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. It includes ski lessons, games and lunch. Half-day cost is CHF60; five half days will cost CHF240. A full day with lunch costs CHF120 and five full days with lunch are CHF480. Reservations recommended.
Mamans du Jour (mothers for a day) is a nanny service for ages 5 and younger, which must be booked before arrival. Rates are CHF45 for full-day service with meal and CHF20 for a half day without meal. Babysitting can also be arranged. Here is a list of providers in pdf format. Jack Frost's Kids Club / Creche (Annick for French : 079 272 3043; Natalie for English : 076 253 7919) is within the Palladium centre, right beside the telecabine in the centre of the village. They are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday to Friday. For babies and children who don't want to ski there are songs, stories, painting and playdough, and snowplay. Older children have ski lessons in the morning and in the afternoon, crafts, music, cooking, games and storytime. They also get snowplay with daily outdoor events such as snow olympics, sledging, and the Yeti Hunt. Half-day cost is CHF75; six half days cost CHF450. A full day costs CHF120 and six full days are CHF550. There's a discount of 10-20% for two or more children from the same family.
