Child Care (2007/08 prices)
The Chamonix Ski School (450 53 22 57) takes children 312 years into their Kid's Club. From December to February 10, lessons (two 2-hour lessons), child care and lunch are included for €70 a day or for €295 for six consecutive days. From February 11 to April, lessons (two 2.5-hour lessons), child care and lunch are included for €74 a day or for €330 for six consecutive days. Variations on the program including half day care are also available. Call for more information.
Child-care services are available at the larger hotels, and babysitting services are available for around €20 (half day) or €35 (full day). Here is a list of qualified babysitters (pdf) recommended by the tourist office. For more information, contact the tourist office.
Maison Pour Tous kindergarten on Place du Mont Blanc (450 53 12 24), takes children 3 to 6 years. Its open 7:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Reservations strongly recommended.
The Panda Club (450 54 08 88 for the Bureau/Office) has kindergarten with ski instruction in both downtown Chamonix (450 55 86 12) and in Argentière at the cable car station (450 54 04 76). The Panda Club Chamonix is on Clos du Savoy. Panda Ski at the Argentière station takes kids ages 312. These child care centers have games, crafts, ski lessons with videos and outdoor snow games. Children ages 3-12 years old can receive care, supervision and lunch for €60 for a half day, €80 for a full day, €255 for five half days, and €310 for five full days, €285 for six half days, and €340 for six full days.
The MJC, Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture, (450 531 224; fax 450 534 441; 94, Promenade du Fori) provides care for children age 3 to 12 years old. The activities are theme-based and include sports, tournaments, theater and educational trips. Children age 3 to 6, the P'tits Bou'ch, are welcome at the Pélerins youth center (450 55 96 22) and children age 6 to 14 are welcome at Chamonix Youth Center (450 53 12 24). The Argentière Centre (450 54 22 30) welcomes 4 to 10 year olds.
