Baqueira/ Beret in The Spanish Pyrenees, Spain

Après-ski here means tapas. Skiers meet in the hotel bars and in some of the bars in town from around 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Vielha has a dozen excellent tapas bars that can be packed shoulder to shoulder. Bar Neguri and Dues Portes are right on the main road through town. Bar Era Plaça, on the town square fills with skiers going over the day’s adventures. In a cluster of recently restored ancient buildings on Carrer Mayor and nearby alleys, try Eth Petit Basteret, Eth Paer and Era Canaula (ask for directions, it’s tucked away).

In Arties, for tapas go to Bar Urtau — an experience that shouldn’t be missed.

There is just not overwhelming late nightlife to choose from. The major disco at the resort is Pacha and Pub Tuc Nere.. They attract an older crowd (25 and up) with Pacha tending toward the younger set. The Vielha and Elurra discos in Vielha have a younger crew. Eth Clot is a music bar that gets packed on weekends.

There are four late-night music spots in Arties—La Luna, Millenium, Devino and De Net. No one really shows up until midnight or later and the gyrations continue until three or four in the morning.
