Dining
Gault Millau recommends some of Bad Gasteins top restaurants. The Hoteldorf Grüner Baum (25160; photo left), virtually a private village tucked in a nearby side valley, serves excellent Austrian mainstays amidst wonderful scenery. Hotel Rader has fine dining.
The Bellevue Alm has good fondue. For a traditional, inexpensive Austrian meal, try the Orania Stuben. Mozartstude and the restaurant in Hotel Nussdorferhof are both recommended.
The top eatery in the region by some accounts is Römerhof (7777) in Dorfgastein. Here try a roast with asparagus and spring onions or test the au gratin potatoes.
