Generally low-keyed and relaxed, Morzine is no jet-set town crammed with sports cars. It is, however, good for pleasant wandering and window shopping, with several opportunities to stop for a hot chocolate or beer. Opéra Rock disco attracts locals and young people. Dixie Bar is a nicely decorated piano bar near the church. Le Café Chaud attracts young swingers. Boudha Café and Le Crépuscule are also a good time.

if you do go for a stroll in Morzine, watch out for cars on the narrow, winding streets of the upper part of town. This area lends itself to a pedestrian village, but no such luck yet.

Avoriaz has plenty of action: The Place, The Yak, The Fantastic Bar and The Shooter’s are fun, and begin filling up after midnight.
