Cross-Country and snowshoeing

There are four cross-country areas accessible from Morzine, Avoriaz and the surrounding area : the Manche Valley with 25 km. of challenging circuits, the Morzine-Avoriaz sector with 47 km. for all levels, Lake Montriond with 10 km. of Canadian-style runs, the Pléney - Chavannes sector with 8.5 km. of forest runs.  
There is no cross country trail fee, but you must buy a special cross-country pass to use of the ski lifts which provide access to these sectors.

The ESF (Ecole de Ski Français; 450 79 13 13), the Ecole Ski Snowboard et Aventures (450 79 05 16), Franck Herbron (450 79 02 32), Relief - Véronique Fillon - Olivier Druelle (450 75 74 33), Alpi'Raquette – Hervé Lesobres (619 42 95 57) and ), Damien Trombert (630 36 46 53) organize snowshoe treks starting from Morzine. Tours range from half-day hikes to all-day adventures ending with cheese fondue in a high-mountain chalet

In Avoriaz, the E.S.F. (450 74 05 65) or Ecole de Ski Internationale (450 74 02 18) offer snowshoe tours starting at €22 for a half-day. Price includes equipment.
