In Morzine, kindergarten l’Outa (450 79 26 00; haltegarderie@outa-morzine.com) welcomes children and infants from ages 3 months old to 5 without ski lessons. The chalet is in the center of the resort near the slopes and ski school. There is a playroom for indoor activities, a nursery and a very large yard where instructors give first lessons to the youngest. Parents can bring a meal or take advantage of the special menu. L’Outa pricing is €18 for a half day, €97 for six half days, €32 for a full day, and €169 for six full days. Meals are €5.50 each for children age 2 and older. Meals are €2.50 each for children age 2 and younger. Reservations required.

Run by the Ecole du Ski Francais Morzine, Club des Piou Piou (450 79 13 13) welcomes children ages 3–12 with ski lessons. Costs for club all day and group lessons are €66 for a full day including lunch, €297 for six full days with meals. Club all day with half-day lessons cost €46 without meal; six half days cost €268 with lunch and €184 without lunch. Instructors speak English.

Avoriaz
1800 child care takes care of children and teaches them to ski. The Children’s Village (450 74 04 46) in the center of Avoriaz is open 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and accepts youngsters 3–16. Children not taking lessons can play in the snow playground. A morning costs €27; full days, €47 (€39 without lunch); six half days in the morning, €134; six half days in the afternoon, €134; six days, €233 (€196 without lunch). The Snowboard Village is for children ages 8–16. Rates are €27 for a morning, €47 for a full day (€39 without lunch); €134 for six mornings, €134 for six afternoons and €233 for six full days (€196 without lunch).

The town also has a nursery, Les Pétits Loups (450 74 00 38; fax 450 74 26 96), for children ages 3 months to 5 years. It’s open Sunday–Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Rates are €21.50 for a half day up to four hours and €37.80 for a full day. Six consecutive days cost €188.70 and six consecutive half days cost €107. Lunch costs an additional €5.50 per day.
